That’s the spirit

Renowned for its challenging terrain and thrilling atmosphere, the Spirit of Africa challenge is the brainchild of local motorsport legend, Sarel van der Merwe. Described as one of the toughest 4×4 challenge in Africa for amateurs, this year saw the 19th edition of the event, run in partnership with Nissan for the first time. ANTON WILLEMSE SNR participated in the media challenge.

Nissan Magnite Review:

Some older readers might recall a humble little car brand named Datsun. It became known for its little 1400 bakkie, which replaced the big American gas guzzlers during the fuel crisis of the 1970s. Now fast forward to 2022, and we find ourselves amidst another fuel crisis. And here to save us from the large gas guzzlers yet again is another humble little Japanese vehicle, the Nissan Magnite.

Crossing over to the adventurous side

Spending two days driving on a few truly beautiful routes in Mpumalanga and the Limpopo province and then unwinding in the lap of luxury for another three days sounded like pure bliss. Add to that the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of three spectacular destinations and a chance to get the adrenaline pumping and I was raring to go. When I learned that we would be doing so with five op South Africa’s favourite compact crossovers and in the company of representatives from each of these brands, I could barely contain my excitement

Hey Good Looking!

New models for 2022

A FLYING BARAGWANATH AND CREMER WIN TGRSA 1000 DESERT RACE

Brian Baragwanath and navigator Leonard Cremer made history when they won the inaugural Toyota Gazoo Racing SA (TGRSA) 1000 Desert Race that took place over 18-20 June, and almost a thousand kilometres, in the Upington area of the Northern Cape with their Century Racing CR6.

Keeping it local

The new Nissan Navara reached a special milestone this week when the first vehicles rolled out of the company newly minted production line in Rosslyn, bound for South Africa and countries all over Africa.
