Entry-level C5 added to Omoda mix

If you’re in the market for a crossover vehicle, you might want to consider Omoda’s C5 Style, which has just been introduced locally as the entry-level model in the line-up.

Priced at just R359 900, the C5 Style serves to lower the starting price of the range by a considerable R88 000. However, despite slotting in at the lowest end of the pricing scale, is still packed with standard kit.

No skimping on features

The C5 Style’s list of standard features includes a leather-trimmed steering wheel, front sports seats, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen system (with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), a six-speaker sound system, a reversing camera, automatic air-conditioning, cruise control, automatic LED headlights and stylish 17-inch alloy wheels. Meanwhile, safety is comprehensively covered by items such as ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, tyre-pressure monitoring, rear parking sensors, an electric parking brake, outer-rear ISOFIX child-seat anchors, four airbags and seatbelt reminders for both the driver and front passenger.

The same engine

The C5 Style is powered by the same turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine as the rest of the line-up (bar the C5 GT, which offers even more performance). This powerplant delivers 115kW and 230Nm of peak torque to the front wheels courtesy of a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with manual-shifting capabilities.

Warranty and service plan

Just like the rest of the Omoda C5 range, the new C5 Style ships standard with a 2-year/30 000km service plan as well as a 5-year/150 000km factory warranty, plus Roadside Assist for 5 years. The engine is covered by an industry-leading 10-year/1-millionkm warranty, which is linked to the vehicle’s first owner.
