GWM has strengthened its off-road lineup with the introduction of the new Tank 300 Diesel, a robust and fuel-efficient addition to its acclaimed Tank 300 series. Tailored for South African adventurers, off-road enthusiasts, and those requiring dependable performance, the Diesel variant merges rugged durability with premium SUV comfort, positioning itself as a formidable contender in the medium SUV segment.
Diesel power meets supreme capability
At the heart of the Tank 300 Diesel lies a 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine, delivering 135kW of power and 480Nm of torque. This powertrain ensures consistent performance across various terrains, complemented by a nine-speed automatic transmission that promotes smooth power delivery and fuel efficiency.
Designed for substantial towing tasks, the Tank 300 Diesel boasts a three-tonne towing capacity, making it suitable for hauling trailers, boats, or caravans. Whether navigating challenging landscapes or embarking on long-distance journeys, this SUV offers versatility without compromise.
Fuel efficiency is a notable attribute, with the Tank 300 Diesel achieving a combined cycle of 7.7 litres/100km, allowing for extended exploration with fewer fuel stops.

Impressive off-road capability
The Tank 300 Diesel excels beyond paved roads, engineered to tackle extreme terrains with features such as seven all-terrain driving modes, low-speed 4WD, off-road cruise control, and the innovative Tank Turn. The Intelligent Four-Wheel Drive Torque On Demand system ensures smooth torque distribution when navigating steep slopes, muddy paths, or rocky trails.
For optimal traction, electronically controlled differential locks on both axles engage swiftly at the push of a button, transferring engine power to the wheels with the most grip. The double wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension enhance vehicle stability and handling over uneven surfaces.
With an approach angle of 33 degrees, a departure angle of 34 degrees, a climbing capability of up to 70 percent, a wading depth of 700mm, and 224mm of ground clearance, the Tank 300 Diesel is engineered to handle the most challenging landscapes.

The vehicle also features a reinforced off-road chassis and chassis guard for maximum durability and stability. The chassis frame rail, with a cross-section of up to 160x130mm and impressive torsional stiffness, ensures superior torsion resistance and driving stability in rough conditions.
The 360-degree camera system provides a clear view of obstacles beneath the vehicle, enhancing safety during technical off-roading, while off-road thermal management prevents overheating in extreme conditions.
Uncompromising safety
The TANK 300 Diesel boasts a 5-star ANCAP safety rating and an advanced suite of safety systems, earning it the classification of Level 2 autonomous driving. Features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and blind spot detection keep drivers in control, while automatic emergency braking, rear collision warning, and traffic sign recognition enhance situational awareness.
In challenging conditions, rear cross-traffic assist with braking, a 360-degree view camera, and a full complement of airbags throughout the cabin provide extra protection.
