Mitsubishi Motors South Africa has unveiled the highly anticipated new Triton, marking a significant evolution in the bakkie segment. With a bold design overhaul, cutting-edge features, and tailored editions, this sixth-generation bakkie is poised to redefine Mitsubishi’s reputation in the South African market.

The new Triton adopts Mitsubishi’s so-called Beast Mode design philosophy, emphasising a muscular yet sophisticated presence. The front grille is more robust than ever, complemented by aggressive fenders and a three-dimensional bumper. LED daytime running lights with L-shaped elements round off the front end, while T-shaped rear taillights reinforce the Triton’s commanding road presence.

The Super Select 4WD-II system, equipped with Active Yaw Control, offers great traction and handling on any surface. The new 4N16 DI-DC turbodiesel engine, delivering 135kW and 430Nm of torque, promises powerful acceleration and efficiency. Paired with a six-speed automatic or manual transmission, this engine is very responsive and packs more than enough punch. For more budget-conscious buyers, the entry-level GL models feature a reliable 2.4-litre engine with a five-speed manual transmission.
