Jeep announces Xtreme Adventure Competition

If your idea of a good time involves dust, adrenaline and the sort of grin you can’t wipe off for a week, Jeep South Africa has just given you a reason to pay attention.

Jeep South Africa has partnered with Dragon Energy and Jeep Apparel to launch the Xtreme Adventure Competition, which runs from 11 February to 30 June 2026. The concept is simple enough: buy a can, enter online, and you could find yourself behind the wheel of a Jeep Gladiator while ticking off some of South Africa’s most pulse-raising experiences.

More than just a logo on a can

This isn’t just a sticker exercise. The collaboration brings together three brands that trade heavily on grit and resilience. Jeep has long built its reputation on authentic 4×4 capability, Dragon Energy positions itself squarely in the “push beyond limits” camp, and Jeep Apparel leans into the lifestyle side of the badge.

At the centre of it all is the Jeep Gladiator – Jeep’s double-cab bakkie that blends trail-rated hardware with everyday usability. It’s arguably the boldest expression of the modern Jeep line-up, and in this competition it’s not just a display vehicle – it’s part of the prize.

The campaign runs nationally and invites adrenaline seekers to get involved by purchasing specially marked Dragon Energy cans featuring the Gladiator. Those cans double up as entry mechanisms via Instagram, turning an everyday energy drink run into a potential gateway to a proper adventure.

Adrenaline with a Jeep key in hand

The prize line-up reads like a bucket list for thrill-seekers.

Winners could find themselves jumping off the iconic Soweto Towers in a heart-thumping bungee experience, tackling a guided 4×4 trail, or going all out with the Ultimate Xtreme Getaway, which includes a leap from the world-famous Bloukrans Bridge.

And here’s where it gets interesting for Adventure Afrika readers: Jeep vehicles form part of every prize. Depending on the tier, winners will either enjoy day-use of the Gladiator or secure an extended four- to five-day adventure with the bakkie as their companion.

That means this isn’t just about standing on a platform, taking a deep breath and jumping. It’s about loading up, hitting the road, and living the Jeep brand the way it was intended – behind the wheel, out in the wild.

Living the brand

Jeep South Africa’s team has positioned the competition as an extension of what the brand already stands for: lifestyle, experience and capability. Rather than simply showcasing a vehicle in a showroom, the idea is to put ordinary South Africans into extraordinary scenarios with a Jeep key in their hand.

From Dragon Energy’s side, the alignment is equally deliberate. Both brands trade on high performance and a refusal to quit. The campaign also ropes in partners such as Insta360 and LW Mag to amplify the action and capture those inevitable slow-motion, wind-in-your-hair moments.

Jeep Apparel plays its part too, reinforcing that the badge isn’t just about metal and torque figures. The lifestyle element – resilience, adventure and that slightly rebellious edge – extends beyond the vehicle itself. In other words, it’s about the mindset as much as the machinery.

Why it matters

Competitions come and go, but this one stands out because the prizes aren’t abstract vouchers or generic travel packages. They are experiences rooted in real South African locations, combined with genuine time behind the wheel of a capable 4×4 bakkie.

For readers who spend their weekends scouting gravel roads, planning trail runs or plotting the next overland escape, the appeal is obvious. The chance to experience a Gladiator in a proper adventure setting, rather than a quick spin around the block, is the sort of prize that actually resonates.

It also reinforces an ongoing shift in the automotive world: brands are increasingly selling experiences, not just vehicles. The Xtreme Adventure Competition leans directly into that idea, offering participants the opportunity to live the brand rather than merely admire it.

How to enter

The competition runs from 11 February to 30 June 2026, with winners announced between March and June 2026.

Entry is linked to the purchase of specially marked Dragon Energy cans featuring the Jeep Gladiator and takes place via Instagram. Full details and terms and conditions are available on the official competition website at www.dragon.co.za/xtreme-comp-2026/.

For adrenaline junkies, Jeep loyalists and anyone who believes a little dirt under the fingernails is a good thing, this could be the easiest way to turn a supermarket stop into something far more memorable.

If nothing else, it proves that sometimes adventure really can start in the drinks aisle.
