#Bornformore!!

Next week sees the official launch of the new Jimny 5-door and we are very excited to test it again!

A few weeks ago, we were lucky enough to be flown to Durban and got to experience the new Jimny 5-door fresh off the boat! We drove it from Durban to Clarence to join the Jimny Gathering and spent a good 400km behind the wheel.

We are well acquainted with the Jimny 3-door but have always found it to be slightly too small for our requirements. There isn’t really enough space for more than two people and if you start to chuck luggage in the back it gets full pretty quickly. But the Jimny 5-door changes all that. There is more space, and the second row of seats is spacious enough for adults to travel in relative comfort. With the added length in the wheelbase – which at 300mm isn’t much – it also feels sturdier on the road and through corners.

1: Ladder frame chassis

This rugged go-anywhere vehicle is still based on a ladder frame chassis and that means that the Jimny is a tough little contender on any 4×4 course.

2: Retro look

The retro styling makes it stand out in any crowd and the legendary design makes it look like a true off-roader made for the African back roads – ready to take on any overland trip!

    3: Safety features

The Jimny 5-door has an abundance of safety features that includes ABS, EBD, BAS and an Electronic Stability Program, as well as dual front and side curtain airbags.

    4: Accesories

With the Jimny being such a popular vehicle for the overlanding and explorer market there is no shortage of accessories from a multitude of aftermarket suppliers, from roof racks to drawer systems and seat covers, you will be able to kit out your Jimny exactly the way you want it.

    5: The price

The Jimny has been around for a few decades, and it has become a cult classic. It is an aspirational and attainable vehicle that allows you to live you dreams and explore the world – at a fraction of the cost of other 5-door 4×4 SUV’s.

Jimny 5-door 1.5 GL MT  R429,900 incl. VAT

Jimny 5-door 1.5 GLX MT  R457,900 incl. VAT

Jimny 5-door  1.5 GLX AT    R479,900 incl. VAT

    Pricing includes: 5yr / 200 000km promotional warranty

                 4yr / 60 000km service plan

So, if you’ve always wanted a Jimny but needed something bigger, the wait is over. The new Jimny 5-door launches in South Africa next week and we will definitely be testing this 4×4 with a soul that is BORN FOR MORE. Watch this space!
